The site was originally known as "Fans of Angel and Buffy Against Blatant Spikesploitation" (explanation under the link Spikesploitation ). As both shows are now into the grave, I've focused on the main update cause of this site : convention and gig reports.
Warning : as well as the expected fangirlism, this site contains language, sarcasms, opinions and parodies. If it's too OMGMEAN!!!1 for you, well... Click away, because blindfolds are not supplied by the company.
Updates
- 2007, December 31 : the update of DOOM (ter). The site is getting more general, about all fandoms, gigs and trips.
- brand new name : F.A.B.A.B.S. will now stand for Fannish Adventures Beyond All Borders and Sanity.
- brand new multi-fandom design (and new color theme, I got tired of the dark blue)
- added gig reviews : The Cardigans, Cock Robin, Heavenfest (Heavy Metal festival), A-ha (and the rest of the July 2006 London Trip), Placebo, George Michael, Tokio Hotel.
- added a "Fandom WTF?! Top 9" in the Funnies section
When I get more time, I'll add more stuff like the Star Wars Expo and trip reports.
- 2007, December 8 : the update of DOOM (bis). I added reports on the latest events I attended :
- Fandom stuff in UK - May 2007 - James Marsters' gig at the Union Chapel and Collectormania
- Jules Verne Festival - Paris, April 2007 - inc. Smallville Celebration (feat. Michael Rosenbaum) and a tribute to Patrick Stewart.
- Buffy Memories - Paris, October 2007 - a Buffy con in Paris, feat. Juliet Landau and George Jeanty
- 2006, September 3 : the update of DOOM. Along with reports on the latest events I attended, Toronto Expo and the Words & Music UK mini-tour (better late than never...), I also added reports on my first ones : the Paris gig and signing, and the Harvest convention in London (including my only experience in stewarding). I found back old reports I had written at the time, and I thought it was... enlightening to put them back to back with recent stuff. Amazing the change of point of view.
I also added many things in the Funnies section, a couple of details (ticket scans, lost-and-found pics) here and there, commented lyrics to his songs and a chapter from "The Little Prince" (just because).- 2005, June 11 : I added a couple of things here and there, most notably a page with some details about two supports from the UK tour, Al Britten and Stryngs, ratings for all the gigs, and the badge above. Nothing to do with JM. It's just one reason why I took the board name Daria. I look more gloomy than I really am. Most of times.
- 2005, May 9 : I did reports for the whole 2005 UK Tour (all gigs from Liverpool to London, and Collectormania in Milton Keynes).
While I was at it, I re-vamped the site (arf, arf) and added a section : Funnies, where I've put all sort of parodies, many of them already published on my Livejournal, but not all. And I bring surprises.- 2004, November 28 : seems it always takes me a month to post reports, so I've just added the Halloween event reports
- 2004, September 27 : I finally added my Oakland con reports (not just about James). Also, yep, I'm doing it backwards : GOTR has been dissolved, and I've added reports from two other gigs I'd seen : the first Scala one and the El Rey one (which already had pics, but no report per se).
Also added "Rave in Peace" - a parody - in the funnies page- 2004, June 1 : reports and pictures for the GOTR European Tour added
