| Story |
Miranda Presley (no relation) arrives from New York to Nashville to make a career as a country singer. She's refused the access to the Blue Bird Café audition because she's late, as well as James Wright, a pretty arrogant competitor, who used her as an excuse for his being late too. At the next audition, they both arrive in time, but Miranda's not chosen to perform on saturday night. James is. She makes friends with him and two other unsuccessful aspiring singers, Kyle Davidson, not as self-confident as James, and Linda Lue Linden, not very sure of what she's gonna do with her life. Miranda is attracted to James and admires his talent, but his attitude switches from flirt to indifference, and disconcerted she turns to Kyle. She finally gets James to commit, and succeeds so well that they get married in Memphis, during a surprise trip to Graceland. But James is obsessed by his music and not always a very attentive husband. When he obtains from his producer to record an album in Memphis, and assumes Miranda won't - shouldn't - follow him while he's working over there, she leaves. On her way back to New York she's struck by inspiration and comes back to Nashville to perform her new songs. She convinces the Blue Bird's patron at the audition, and when James - who came back for her - asks for a second chance, she more or less accepts - but on a new basis.
| Trivia |
